Saying Goodbye

When things get hard

I just wanna runaway.

Looking ahead just doesnt seem like an option.

My body and soul holds tight

to the present afraid to ever let go.

In fear of loosing all those great memories.

Sometimes it feels like the more days

I spend alone the farther I become,

From the ones that that once cared for me.

They use to hold me tight

And have open ears,

Along with a beating heart,

thats sounds kept my thoughts clear

Who knew friends

who come and go

would leave such a deep mark in your life,

as they head out the door.

Diamante Poem

Freedom
liberty, honor
strengthening, reassuring, demanding
invaluable, precious. dreadful, timid
imprisoning, assassinating, suffocation
detestation, death
Imprisonment

Sense Poems

Jealousy is a raging black
It sounds like an angry voice echoing in your thoughts
It feels like a sickness that is un-curable
It smells like a flame overtaking an abandoned bush
It tastes like an unsweetened lime
It makes one feel envious in dispair

Love is blind
Like the wind rustling in the trees on cool winter night
Like that first of hot chocolate after playing in the snow
Unmarked like the earth after a morning rain
Blameless and gorgeous
Like the soft, smooth fur of a new born puppy
Like the many shades of color found hiding in the sun
Like the evening darkness filled with miraculous lights revealed to the world as stars
Love is blind but can see through the hearts of many

COlOR poems

Purple is a deep emotion
Purple is the color of the raging waters
Purple is like the reflection of the moon in near by oceans
Purple is the color of a dinasour found in everyones childhood memories
Purple is like as lilac in a mothers garden
Purple is like a significant honor many soldiers both live and die for to achieve

Yellow is the color of happiness
Yellow is like the color of cooling lemonade after a tiring day
Yellow is like the color of the eye catching sign at the outlet mall
Yellow is bold and beautiful just like a shooting star
Yellow is like a sunflower that puts a smile on a widows face
Yellow is like a the bright, cheerful sun

White is the color of peace and serenity
White is like the snow found at the peeks of mountains hidden in the clouds
White is like a fluffy bunny on Easter morning
White is like a teenagers teeth after braces are removed for the first time
White is like the color found on a writers blank page of empty thoughts
White is the color of tinker bells pixie dust
White is the color of roses a father will hand to his daughter

Red is an emotion one always hope to feel.. love
Red is found hidden deep within a beating heart
As we reach school each day stripes catch our eyes as they move amongst the flag
Red can be seen lurking within the suns radient heat
Red lingers hiddin within the young girls in a beautiful bow
Red is the color of a rose given to one out of love

Unheard Voices.... Headen Thoughts

The plainess of a shadow,
upon a field of black.
The image of one who fought for us
but didnt make it back.

Thank you God for giving me the gift of life.
Also for giving me men and woman who'd risk their lives for mine.
They may never have known the real me
But fought for me nonetheless.

They loved and cared just like any other person would
But their emotions would be unknown by hugs and kisses but by gun shots heard around the world.
When you see the stars and stripes blowing in the breeze,
Say your thanks and prayers for each one of them.

The walls stand there as a memory of the men who fought, the men who died
Their names a witness of their duty.
To think that those names represented the lives of those who fought for us
Yet we'd never get the chance to thank them for all they've done.

We may not have known them
someone father,mother, or even son
But with each life give someones family is missing one.
As rain poursdown I cant help but think they're tears from the heavens above.

These lives may have been taken from us,
But brought up to a God so good above.
For all those men who left behind a child and a brave wife,
I pray each night that they would never be forgotten,
but that their names owuld remind all who past it,
of the sacrifices they made.

Fifty-five thousand voices can be heard hidden within this wall.
Their wishes and dreams for their futures were washed away,
But can be heard by their silent whispers carried by the wind.

We remember their names in silence and praise
Realizing they fought for the future that lay ahead for me.
With God by our side we'll win the good fight,
in order to glorify him and all those names written in gold against the black granite wall.

As a hand is placed amongst the wall the families know their lives would never be the same.
We feel helpless knowing we couldnt stop them from falling on the battle field..
Men fell one by one with only the simple ground to catch their lifeless bodies.

As the enemy shot at them with their deadly rounds.
Men stood around as they prayed to God that this battle would cease
And that instead would be over come by a sense of peace.
Memories soon faded of the dreadful days in Nam'

Soon the world would feel the peace and serenity of knowing some lives would be spared.
For those who'd lost a loved one in this terrible war
They would only be reminded of the saddened face of the family and friends no one would forget
As they remove there hand from the wall and place a red rose at it's base.

They cant help but imagine the face hidden behind the name written in gold.
After so much time and the many shedded tears
This war would soon end after twenty-five years.
This would be the last time a gold star mom would loose her son in Vietnam.

Freedom we take for granted.
God's love would open heaven's gates
Allowing all who fought for this cause to confide within his kingdom.
